Description

A cozy banana bread latte made without sugar using real banana, maple, cinnamon, and espresso. Tastes like banana bread in a cup—hot or iced!

Ingredients

Scale

For Banana Syrup:

1 very ripe banana, mashed

¾ cup brown sugar substitute

¼ cup pure maple syrup

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp fine salt

1 cup water

For Latte:

½ cup milk of choice

2 shots espresso or ½ cup strong coffee

12 tbsp banana syrup

Ice (for iced version)

Optional Cold Foam:

2 tbsp cream (or coconut cream)

3 tbsp milk

1 tbsp banana syrup

Optional Caramelized Banana:

¼ banana, diced

½ tbsp butter or coconut oil

2 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

1. Mash banana in a saucepan with brown sugar substitute, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Cook until sugar dissolves.

2. Add water, bring to boil, then simmer 10–15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt. Strain and cool.

3. For caramelized banana: sauté banana in butter and maple syrup until golden. Set aside.

4. Make cold foam by frothing milk, cream, and syrup until thick.

5. For iced latte: Fill glass with ice. Add milk, syrup, and espresso. Stir and top with foam and banana.

6. For hot latte: Steam milk, mix in syrup, pour over espresso in mug. Optionally top with foam.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.

Store syrup in fridge up to 2 weeks.

Make it dairy-free with oat or almond milk.
